previous test-posts in recent days in my new account [atm still under evaluation] in this new instance, apparently failed to transmit, as i never received them in my other accounts. will this now work?

in reply to Marek 🇦🇺🇩🇪 • •@Marek 🇦🇺🇩🇪 aha! that's good & bad news. sorry to say, but also more bad news... just like prior days, the above latest test-post has NOT reached either of my other Friendicas, which accounts i had "CC'd" above. obvs this is a bad situation. i think atm i cannot really proceed with more setting up this account, til you've had a chance to sniff about on your server in hope of finding the blockage. we do know that outbound posts are succeeding within your server (eg, you're getting mine & i'm getting yours, plus unexpectedly this morn another peep on your server, @Lyn, replied that she could see my test-post}, but mine at least have a 100% failure rate getting to the outside. good luck, & thx for your efforts!

ps: dunno if this helps with the diagnostics or not, but so far when i write posts, other than for your address, any address i begin typing is NOT recognised & auto-completed, nor pops-up a list for me to choose... instead i have to fully type in each address each time {eg, Lyn's, above}. that's not how it works on my other Friendicas, or indeed my Masto or Sharkey accounts... fwiw.

NB: some insight into why i initially thought my OP had failed to get outside... it was not received in my other accounts til ~30' after i had sent it. that's a helluva lotta lag, which if unable to be reduced will drastically impinge on the ability to participate in rapid-fire synchronous thread convos, as often happens in my other accounts. 🥺

in reply to Droppie • •Thanks for the information! Are your other accounts all Friendica instances, or others as well? Does it make a difference whether you use a direct mention or the Messages menu?
It seems that mentioning someone in a private message does not work, but sending a direct message using the Messages menu (or the "Message" button on the contact page) does. Can you confirm that?

mostly friendicas, indeed all my recent test posts were sent only to my other friendicas, whereas iirc maybe one or two of my original tests, the other day, were also sent to my Masto account.

Show more...pls indulge me here. atm it's late & i'm tired, quite fuzzy, & i'm struggling to grasp what each option is that you're asking. immediately after i first registered this new account, i tried various combos of test-post creation, but by now there's too much water under the bridge for me to remember clearly what's what. otoh my most recent test-posts, like the one at the top of this thread, i created simply by clicking the "New Post" button at top rhs corner of the Network page, then in the composition drafting box i typ

then not only did it not work for me here, but iirc it rarely or maybe even never worked for me in any of my other friendicas, both still-active ones, & older ones now deleted. tbh i always found it so unreliable as to not really bothering any more with it... maybe it's a general friendica code bug?
atm it's 90' after midnight, but late yesterday morning you sent me this DM...

if you don't mind, i'd like to now mention an additional issue that troubles me with my new account here. i prolly would have raised this with you another day anyway, except i now wonder if it might also be another part of a larger problem with the server?
the same day i created this account i tediously manually Followed all the numerous hashtags i follow [~100] & then created my custom Channels for those tags. for reasons i still don't yet understand, in this account those tags searches [& thus also the Channels] often fetch nothing, or otherwise much less than my identically-setup current daily friendica, @Droppie [opensoc] . this disappointment might be entirely unrelated, but i thought to mention it here just in case it might be another facet of some broader issue with your server's current networking / fediversing...?
