Sascha @pallenberg just published a powerful exposΓ© about the #WSocial "it's not a leak if we intentionally publish it" ID data controversy.

I highly recommend you read it. It's in German, but you could use your browser's translation tool:

Sascha did a PHENOMENAL job explaining the GDPR implications.

I wish the @EUCommission would reconsider their support of #WIdentity and W Social - people's private data is not safe with them.

Thank you for all the research you guys are doing! I'm not against age verification and verified identities on social media per se, but it has to be done in a way that protects the privacy and the rights of its users. Clearly there's still a lot of work to be done here.

I can read the original ... If I could not, though: I turned off my browser's translation tools, though, because it keeps bothering me with translations I don't want, and whenever I see my own text after processing it through an LLM, I hate it, and I often don't recognize the message anymore.

Which is to say: I think a translation by thenoriginal author or somebody who properly understands the original is worth a lot more than an LLM-based automated one. Also since it's often not obvious whether the automated one happens on my device or on somebody else's server (and whose...)

if nothing happens .. and there comes no (insightful) statement from officiual channels i would say #GDPR is more #JurisFiction than #JurisDiction
