#FirefoxNightly 's #SplitView function includes a context menu option to open link in split view. afaict this has not yet made it into vanilla #Firefox [tbc]. it is simply fabulous having the added flexibility this provides.

i've been using the native #TabSplit function in Nightly for several months, but the obvious lack, til recently, of this extra option was very frustrating. it's thus great now to have it.

the good news:
is available, works, on myriad general web pages, & wrt fedi - masto, #Statuzer , #Phanpy

the infuriating news:
it is not available in #Friendica !!!!! wtaf? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿคฏ

having only just jumped back, again, to Friendica in the last 36 hours, i am beyond pissed off at this ridiculous discovery. damnit! ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿฅบ

oh, silly me, i forgot to include @Friendica Support ... how can i ascertain if this is a problem with #FirefoxNightly's code for detection of hyperlinks, OR something uniquely odd about how #Friendica represents its hyperlinks ?

in other words, to be very blunt, is this Mozilla's or Friendica's "fault"?
